As in the rest of the island, at sunset on January 16th, Oliena lights some big fires to honour Sant’Antonio Abate. Almost all neighbourhoods celebrate the saint, as legend says he stole fire to give it to humanity. It is an excellent opportunity to try out the sweet of this celebration – the pistiddu – with a fine glass of Nepente wine.
Celebrations will be enriched by traditional dances, tenore singing and music.
