An emerald in the stone
Su Gologone Springs

Su Gologone is a spectacular resurgent that looks like a small lake within two high dolomitic walls. When you visit it, you’ll be amazed by the crystal clear waters with shades of emerald green, teal up to deep blue.
The springs are at the bottom of Mount Uddè, in the Oliena’s Supramonte. They can be regarded as one of the main ones in Sardinia, thanks to their water capacity of more than 500 litres per second. This number can reach 10.000 with the high tide!

Su Gologone’s crystal clear waters and its incredible depth have always been a challenge for many cave divers, who come here from worldwide to explore its corners to test their skills.

The most considerable exploration happened in 2010 when the Italian Alberto Cavedon reached a depth of 135 metres.

This resurgent and its mystery, which its secrets yet to explore, are still pristine. Maybe this is why it attracts so many people each year, from all corners of the world, and it is one of the most popular attractions in Sardinia.
